Anti-Rub Vests & Hoods

Fitting an anti-rub vest beneath your horse’s rug will help to prevent any rubbing or sore points at your horse’s shoulders, withers and chest. They are typically made from satin or Lycra stretch and sit around the shoulders to create a friction-free layer. Anti-rub vests are ideal for more sensitive skinned or thin-coated horses, or for during the winter months when heavier rugs are needed.

Stretch hoods are designed from Lycra and fit over the horse’s face, neck and shoulders to help prevent rubbing. They are a great way to keep your horse looking clean (especially if your horse is grey!) – use a stretch hood after bathing and plaiting to keep your horse tidy, reducing time spent grooming prior to a show.
